dc.description.abstract"Plants have developed biochemical and molecular mechanisms to cope with cold stress. Recent genome sequencing studies of plants have provided information about the complex transcriptional mechanisms that operate during this stress. However, the mechanisms of regulation and adaptation to cold stress in plants are not completely known. The present study is divided into two chapters. In the first one, a massive sequencing of the Arabidopsis thaliana transcriptome under three cold temperatures 0ºC, 4ºC y 10ºC during 24h was made. Taking into consideration the fifty most highly induced genes on each condition, 7 genes are shared between the three temperatures. Based on these results, we analyzed the expression of five genes on Arabidopsis plants, under 0ºC, 4ºC y 10ºC through qRT-PCR, where we observed a differential response on the three analyzed periods of time (24, 48 and 72h). On the second chapter, the expression levels of the four acidic dehydrin genes of A. thaliana were evaluated under the same cold temperatures during 24, 48 and 72h. We observed that these dehydrins display different expression patterns in relation to time and temperature, mainly under 0ºC and 4ºC. With the results obtained in this study, relevant information is contributed to delve into the mechanisms by which plants survive under low temperatures."es_MX
